Amazon product &
competitor research services.

What should you launch? Who will you compete with? And will the price leave enough margin? We study the demand, competing products and cost assumptions so you can decide what deserves your time and stock budget.

For new sellers, manufacturers and existing brands · Marketplace-specific research

Research for a clear decision

Choose what to launch.
Or improve what you already sell.

You may be choosing your first product, deciding which items from your factory catalogue to launch, or trying to understand why competing brands are getting attention.

We start with the decision you need to make. Then we agree on the products, competitors and marketplace to study. The output brings the findings, assumptions and practical next steps together.

Already have a product in mind? We can validate that idea. Already selling? We can focus on competitor analysis. You can book either service or a combined study.

Two services, one clear brief

Research the product.
Understand the competition.

Compare like with like

The cheapest listing
is not always the closest competitor.

Match the customer and use case. A gift set, an everyday refill and a premium single item can serve different buyers even when they appear for a similar search.

Normalise the offer. Compare pack quantity, capacity, material and included accessories. Where useful, show price per item or unit alongside the displayed pack price.

Record the conditions. Promotions, coupons, delivery location and stock availability can change what a shopper sees. We record relevant dates and conditions for the observations used.

Separate visibility from performance. A sponsored appearance shows an ad was visible in that observation. It does not reveal the competitor’s full budget, conversion rate or profit.

Illustrative research example

Turn customer feedback
into a testable product idea.

01

Observe a repeated issue

Reviews in a storage-product category mention that the item does not fit the intended shelf. First check the products and sample behind that pattern.

02

Form a practical hypothesis

A different size or clearer dimensions may help. Compare existing alternatives and check whether buyers are looking for that particular use.

03

Validate before buying stock

Confirm measurements, samples, cost and target price. Decide whether the evidence supports a limited test or whether more research is needed.

This explains the research approach. It is not a client case study or a claim that a particular product opportunity has been validated.

Sources and research limits

Know what the evidence
can tell you.

Public market information: Relevant product pages, search results, visible offers and customer feedback help build the comparison. We explain the product sample and observation period.

Your authorised account data: If available and relevant, your sales, advertising and search reports can add context. Amazon research tools such as Product Opportunity Explorer and Brand Analytics may also help, subject to marketplace availability and account eligibility.

Tool estimates: If third-party estimates of sales, revenue or keyword demand are used, we label them and explain the source and period. They are not access to a competitor’s private account.

Commercial assumptions: Product costs and supplier terms come from you or an agreed source. We identify missing inputs instead of treating a guessed number as a confirmed cost.

Amazon describes demand and feedback research in Product Opportunity Explorer ↗ and explains access to Brand Analytics ↗. Eligible datasets and tools differ by account and marketplace. Research does not guarantee sales or profitability.

Questions you may have

Product selection and competitor analysis.
Understand the service before you decide.

What is included in your Amazon product research service?

The agreed research can cover product ideas or validation of selected products, customer demand, search themes, seasonality, competition, price bands, customer feedback and cost assumptions. We confirm the categories, marketplaces, number of products and depth of research in your proposal.

What is included in Amazon competitor research?

We compare relevant competing products and brands, including pack sizes, prices, features, reviews, product content and visible search positioning. We identify practical opportunities for differentiation and listing or offer improvements. The scope confirms the ASINs, search terms and observation period covered.

Can I book only competitor analysis for products I already sell?

Yes. Share your ASINs, target marketplace and the main question you want answered. We can focus on competitor pricing, positioning, product differences, customer complaints or search opportunities without including a new-product search.

Can you help if I do not know which product to sell?

Yes. We start with your budget, sourcing options, manufacturing strengths and product preferences. We agree on the categories to study and prepare a reasoned shortlist. A shortlist is an input to your decision; samples, supplier checks and further validation may still be needed.

Can you research products for both Amazon India and the USA?

Yes. We can scope research for India, the USA or other agreed marketplaces. Demand, prices, customer expectations, costs and product requirements differ by country, so each marketplace is assessed separately. We confirm the coverage and available data before starting.

Will you tell me the exact sales and ad spend of a competitor?

We do not have access to competitors’ private account data. Any third-party sales, revenue or keyword estimates are labelled with their source and period where used. Visible sponsored placements are observations, not proof of a competitor’s total budget or advertising performance.

Which sources do you use for the research?

We review relevant public product pages, search results, customer feedback and other suitable research sources. Where available and authorised, we can also use your account reports, eligible Amazon research tools and relevant third-party estimates. The report explains important sources, dates, assumptions and gaps.

Does the research include pricing and profit estimates?

An agreed scope can include cost and contribution scenarios using your product cost, packaging, fulfilment assumptions and estimated selling costs. We explain the inputs and show what changes when selling price or costs change. A competitor’s actual profit is not publicly available, and estimates are not guaranteed results.

Do I need an Amazon account to use this service?

No. Initial product and public competitor research can be scoped before you register. Some Amazon tools and account-level reports depend on eligibility and permissions. We explain the effect of any missing data on the agreed research.

How many products or competitors will you research?

This is agreed before work starts. The proposal states the categories, shortlisted products, competitor ASINs, marketplaces and any observation period. We also confirm report format, discussion and revision scope so you know what is included.

Does this include supplier sourcing, samples or compliance approval?

Supplier sourcing, factory checks, samples, laboratory testing and certification work are separate unless expressly included. We can flag requirements that need investigation, but you must validate the product and obtain any required approvals before launch.

Can you help implement the recommendations?

Yes. You can separately discuss product listing work, account setup, advertising or ongoing account management. The research proposal confirms whether any implementation is included. Amazon fees, ad spend and other launch costs are separate.

Do you guarantee a profitable product or a fixed number of sales?

No. Research helps you compare options and understand the risks, but demand, costs, competition and execution can change. We explain why a product is worth further evaluation, what evidence is missing and which checks are needed before buying stock.

How much does the research cost and how long does it take?

Charges and delivery time depend on the number of categories, products, competitors and marketplaces, the data required and the depth of review. We confirm the scope, fee and schedule after discussing your requirements. Ongoing monitoring is quoted separately from a one-time study.
